Quick-Step
This brand has two underlays available:
Combi-Lay Standard – this good-quality polyolefin underlay has a medium density and can be easily installed under a floating floor using the “peel and stick” application. At 2mm thick, it has damp-proof characteristics and is very easy to handle. It is also a low-cost option.
Quiet-Step Combi-Lay – the big advantage of this premium underlay is that it reflects foot noise by 30% unlike other underlays. This also complies with multi-storey building requirements. It is made of a high-density polyolefin copolymer resin which not only reduces surface noise but is also continually damp-proof. It has the same easy installation of the Combi-Lay Standard and is regarded as a superior underlay.
Regupol
This brand also has two underlays, both eco-friendly options:
K225 5mm – manufactured from recycled cork and rubber granulates, this sustainable underlay can reduce foot noise by 25% (between 500 and 2,000 Hz). The underlay can be installed underneath a wood or parquet floor and is also suitable for underfloor heating. It has a quick and easy installation process, is PVC free and also provides extra comfort underfoot.
6015 6-3mm – this high-quality Regupol underlay is combined of recycled rubber and polyurethane and finished in a dimple profile to create an effective sound barrier that works in both wet and dry areas. It can also be used with underfloor heating and can be installed under tile or engineered wood floors.
