Freshen up your Floors this Christmas Part 2

Following on from part 1 which you can find over on our Floormania blog, we are giving you a quick overview of our products so you can revamp your floors just in time for Christmas. We have already covered hardwood, floating timber and engineered oak, now let’s look at the rest of our range:

A huge appeal of laminate is the affordability compared to solid timber. Advances in technology also mean that laminate now has an identical look and feel of natural hardwood. It is strong and scratch-resistant making it the ideal choice for high foot-traffic areas (especially with Christmas approaching). Here are a few shades from our laminate range:

  • Clix Beech – a neutral light brown plank that provides a great base colour for any interior.
  • Quick-Step Majestic Desert – this brushed grey floor comes in extra-wide and extra-long planks radiating luxury and style.

With many different patterns and colours to choose from, you can be sure to wow your guests with a classic parquet floor. You can combine different species and colours to really push the creative boundaries. Examples of woods include Spotted Gum, Tasmanian Oak and Tallowwood.

Vinyl Plank

Though a synthetic flooring material, technology developments mean that vinyl planks are now designed to accurately mimic the look of hardwoods. Another bonus is that the majority are 100% waterproof! So no need to worry about those inevitable spills over the festive season. Vinyl planks in our range include:

  • Natural Impressionist Jasper – for authentic woody hues and that natural timber appearance, you should definitely consider this vinyl plank.
  • Quick-Step Oak Natural – a neutral-coloured board giving you the freedom to choose any interior colour scheme.

For a more sustainable flooring option, cork and bamboo are excellent materials to consider. Both are aesthetically pleasing and hard-wearing, meaning they’ll stand up to lots of foot traffic and be widely admired by your guests. Here are some to consider:

  • Readycork Traditional – the champagne shade of this cork floor creates a comfortable and humble setting in any room.
  • Arc Bamboo Coffee – consisting of soft neutral browns, this floor lightens a room creating the impression of more space.

A recent addition to Floormania, our carpets range from economical to luxurious and many are also environmentally friendly. Take a look at our three collections – Harold James, Synthetic and Wool to find the style and shade to suit your home.

Freshen up your Floors this Christmas Part 1

With the festive season looming, there has never been a better time for a flooring revamp. Rather than waiting until the New Year, why not welcome your guests with a beautiful brand-new floor when they visit over the Christmas period? To help you get started, here is a brief overview of our flooring products:

Hardwood (also known as solid timber) is an all-around winner in many homes. Combining effortless beauty with unique features, hardwood floors really bring a room to life. Exuding a timeless style that continues to triumph throughout its long life-expectancy, timber floors are a worthy present for your home this Christmas. We have a number of shades and grain patterns available including:

  • Hurford Blackbutt – a versatile, straight-grained hardwood varying in shades of straw to light brown.
  • Hurford French Oak – this French import has a rustic feel that mimics the historical appearance of French Chateaus.
  • Hurford Grey Gum – with red-brown tones and admirable natural characteristics, this hardwood species emanates class and elegance.

Floating Timber

Floating floors are an excellent choice if you wish to install a new floor over an existing subfloor (quick and easy in time for Christmas). You can still relish the look and feel of natural hardwood whilst avoiding the difficult installation process. Here are a few selections from this range:

  • HM Walk – the planks in this hardwood collection are engineered with a strong ply core that is eco-friendly whilst still maintaining the timber aesthetic.
  • Quick-Step Blue Gum – featuring recently on our Instagram page (@floormania) this timber features a number of distinct shades from pale grey to deep red.

Engineered Oak

Engineered simply means that planks are made up of layers with a natural timber top layer. Plywood is used in other layers which creates a solid core that is less likely to expand or contract with changes in moisture levels. Great in case of any festive spills! Flooring in this range includes:

  • Quick-Step Palazzo – a simple light brown plank with warm tones creating a classic and sophisticated overall look.
  • Preference Ebony – dark brown hues radiate from this rich floor, creating a statement look in any room.
  • Premium Oak Everest – for a modern revamp, try this nutmeg coloured plank with whitewash highlights and distinctive knots and grains.
