COVID-19 Policy

COVIDSafe Plan for our Workplace

We are genuinely committed to protecting our customers, visiting sales representatives and staff during this unprecedented time. This is our plan to manage the risk of exposure to COVID-19. 

Our Staff

  • Are given information and training on how to safely work with customers, visitors and colleagues.
  • Will observe good hygiene procedures and regularly wash their hands and/or use sanitiser.
  • Will continue to observe social distancing requirements.
  • Will not come to work if they have any symptoms such as a sore throat, cold, cough, aches, shortness of breath or any other flu-like symptoms.
  • Will immediately be sent home and encouraged to seek treatment and testing should they display any flu-like symptoms.
  • Will frequently wash their hands thoroughly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60 percent alcohol
  • Avoiding touching their eyes, nose and mouth
  • Covering sneezes or coughs with tissues, if possible, or else with a sleeve or shoulder
  • Avoid Shaking hands
  • Ensure gloves and masks are worn on job sites
  • Avoiding close contact with people who are sick
  • Will not attend the workplace if they are in isolation or quarantine. Our staff –
    • Are given information and training on how to safely work with customers, visitors, and colleagues.
      • Regular communication to educate employees on best practices in the workplace and to dispel myths and unfounded rumours, about the coronavirus itself and its potential impact on the workplace. As part of this, all employees have also been issued with fact sheets for preventative measures.
      • All Floormania Staff have been issued with a Coronavirus Health Information Fact Sheet.
    • Will observe good hygiene procedures and regularly wash their hands and/or use sanitiser.
    • Will continue to observe social distancing requirements.
    • Will not come to work if they have any symptoms such as a sore throat, cold, cough, aches, shortness of breath or any other flu-like symptoms.
      • If employees are sick or have been exposed to someone who is sick, they are advised to remain home until they are free of a fever, signs of a fever or other symptoms for at least 24 hours. This is especially important for employees who have symptoms of acute respiratory illness. In fact, CDC guidance specifically recommends that employees are sent home immediately if they appear to have symptoms of an acute respiratory illness.
    • Will immediately be sent home and encouraged to seek treatment and testing should they display any flu-like symptoms.
    • Will not attend the workplace if they are in isolation or quarantine.
    • Will be encouraged to suspend non urgent interstate or overseas travel till further notice to limit the risk of transmitting the disease

Our customers and visitors

  • Will be asked if they are experiencing any flu-like symptoms. If a customer or visitor does have any symptoms, they will be asked to return when they have complied with COVID-19 requirements.
  • Are provided with hand sanitiser upon entry.
  • A duty to protect visitors to the workplace, visitors are advised of any known cases of coronavirus infection among our staff if any. By the same token, visitors to the workplace, including staff, vendors and delivery persons, are being screened for exposure to or symptoms of coronavirus and must complete a declaration if they have travelled in to affected countries, if so they will be excluded from the workplace.

Our cleaning

  • We have a documented cleaning schedule. Regularly touched surfaces and objects will be wiped down daily. We use products labelled ‘disinfectant’ to wipe surfaces including entry and exit points, keyboards, seats, and work surfaces. EFTPOS facilities will be cleaned after each use.
  • Our bathrooms are cleaned twice daily.
  • Our staff rooms are regularly cleaned and allow for physical distancing

Our workplace

  • Will limit entry to customers and visitors when numbers reach the 4sqm requirement.
  • Is committed to supporting these procedures to observe COVID-19 restrictions and operating our workplace safely.

Our Commitment to you as our valued clients

The coronavirus continues to expand globally and rapidly, with new developments and outbreaks happening almost daily. Accordingly, it is imperative for Floormania to communicate with the workforce, take health and safety precautions, monitor information about the virus, and plan and prepare for emergencies. We have adopted a new system that allows our staff to work remotely if the need arises, allowing us to eliminate disruption to everyday business and can be in place very quickly should the need arise. We have a well-developed business continuity plan in place that will allow us to continue to support and serve our valued clients
